I have written poetry and books for children and young adults for many years and pursued the field of fine art as a painter. My main job during that time, however, was as a wife and the mother of five. I also taught both writing and painting sporadically and, at 72, took my first “real” job teaching creative writing at Lesley University in their low residency MFA Program.
Recently, I have downsized to a small townhouse in a seaside town. Though my writing has not been impacted, I’m still trying to make an efficient studio out of the space I have.
Many of my artist and writer friends find themselves in similar situations. Some are trying to adapt to physical problems;others have suffered losses or been faced with challenges of many kinds.
This blog is meant to be a place where artists of every kind who are no longer young can share their hopes, frustrations, and triumphs and learn from each other.
